Juba: Ecovadis silver medal
Juba has won the silver medal from EcoVadis, the most internationally consolidated global platform for rating the sustainability of companies, evaluating different criteria linked to non-financial management systems.
In this first assessment, Juba achieved an overall score of 67 out of 100, well above most companies in the sector. These results reflect the specialist workwear and glove company’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and will help drive continuous improvement.
In its rating, EcoVadis analysed Juba’s performance in environmental sustainability; in labour practices and human rights; in sustainable procurement; and in its ethical conduct, parameters in which analysts on the global platform gave the company very high scores.
Among the many sustainability-related measures implemented by Juba, it highlights its strong commitment to the use of fibres created using plant matter in many of its products under the name Juba Nature, the reduction of paper and plastic in its packaging and, among other commitments, its collaboration with the Ecomar Foundation.
This is not Juba’s first certificate. The company already has others such as ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001. In addition, it markets more than 40 products with the hallmark STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX in textile safety, which verifies that the gloves have been tested and do not contain substances harmful to user health. It is the most well-known and internationally respected certificate for the safety of textile products.
When it comes to textile recycling, Juba ensures the quality and transparency of products and sustainable practices with the two cutting-edge certifications that exist today and are developed by the Textile Exchange: the Recycled Claim Standard (RCS) and the Global Recycle Standard (GRS).
Finally, among its major milestones in sustainability, Juba has a Carbon Footprint Calculator developed by Bunzl Spain, which has was awarded the AENOR certification based on GHG Protocol.
